FAQ

Pre Wedding Photos

The time needed depends on the photos you want, the size of your wedding party and families, how many different groupings, and how much time you are willing to allow when creating those romantic photos of the two of you. Allow 2 hours prior to music starting or if you prefer a more photojournalistic approach with minimal portraits, less time may be needed. Some couples prefer to complete all of the portraits prior to the ceremony so that afterwards they can go right into the reception without keeping their guests waiting. Also, I can capture that moment when you first see each other in your wedding attire in a special way. Couples enjoy starting their day with this private time together. If you don’t want to see each other before the ceremony I can still do some many photos before the ceremony. The time needed depends on your specifics. It is your day and I will do what you want. There is no extra charge for doing portraits in a split session.

Small Budget Weddings

“We’re having a small wedding, with 30-50 people, and only wanted to spend less than $1,000 on pictures. What can we do?”
This question or similarly asked questions are asked often. The first thing to do if you want a professional photographer under these circumstances is to be flexible. A true wedding photographer only can work so many weekends a year, and reasonably expects one or two large weddings per month. If I reserve a prime Saturday for you, then larger weddings will have to be turned away. If your budget is much smaller, you will be choosing from second and third tiers of wedding photographers. You may be better off selecting either a Friday or Sunday for your wedding. I will offer a discount for non-Saturday events and thus help to work with your budget.

Deposit and Payment

Because I only schedule one wedding per day, booking early is essential. Wedding dates are reserved with a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit that is credited toward your wedding package. If you reserve me to photograph your wedding, I turn down other jobs for that date. Rescheduling your wedding for a future date requires a new retainer to reserve that date.
The retainer for each collection is 200.00, which is deducted from the final payment. The retainer is due at the time of reserving your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to the wedding date. All monies are non-refundable. Sales tax will be added to all wedding packages and ala carte orders. Visa/Mastercard/Discover are accepted.
